December Faithbooking Lesson

Better late than never! The lesson is entitled, "A Year in Review" - you should be able to click on the image above to enlarge it (if you have trouble viewing the lesson and would like a copy, just let me know). In keeping with the theme, I thought I'd take a moment to highlight ten memorable blog posts from 2008 (okay, more like fifteen):

10. The most controversial post of 2008 most certainly is THIS ONE. Thankfully, we were able to salvage the friendship.

9. My favorite God Moment story is HERE but you'll probably need to see THIS ONE as well.

8. We probably had the most fun HERE and you can certainly count on the fact that we will do it again in 2009.

7. I shared a little of my story HERE. A significant post for me.

6. There were sad goodbyes... HERE and HERE and HERE.

5. My favorite product post has to be THIS ONE.

4. Remember THIS POST? And what happened AFTERWARDS. Boy, how things can change in one year - Tina Vega Photography was launched on March 1, 2008.

3. THIS POST makes my head hurt just reading it!

2. I laughed until I cried with THIS ONE.

1. And of course, our first *real* vacation in years (click HERE). Believe it or not, my 8-year old is still wearing the bracelet... a white, crusty-looking thing now.

If you haven't yet had a chance, be sure to check out Angie's recent friendship post - the video she created in honor of her friend's birthday is beyond beautiful. (Click HERE to view, just be sure to pause the blog music at the bottom first.)

hint**hint**hint**

Here's a hint for the January Faithbooking Crop:

Our next Faithbooking Crop will be on Saturday, January 10th from 9:00 am-4:00 pm (or until 9:00 pm, if you choose!) at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Lakeville. The crops are FREE and include snacks, beverages, and make-and-take supplies. Feel free to work the crop around your schedule, just let me know if you plan to attend and I'll be sure to have a spot ready for you.

i'll be back a little later!

So much for posting the hint on Monday. (Unfortunately, it's not in this post either!) There are *big things* going on in the life of someone close to me and the past couple of days have been very consuming. The situation is pretty serious. I want to respect the privacy of those involved but would appreciate your prayer cover for my extended family.

I'll be back to post last month's faithbooking lesson and the hint after my kids are out the door!

Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail...

We just returned from a wedding in southern Minnesota. (Thankfully, we'd already made plans to stay the night because the weather was sure wasn't conducive to driving. Ice skating maybe, but not driving.)

Interestingly enough, we ran into a couple from the last wedding we'd attended. (Small world, isn't it?) The boys and I danced to "We Got the Beat", played several rounds of the slappy-hand game, and enjoyed a hearty dinner before heading up to our room. As reluctant as they were to dance with me, neither had a problem stepping up to bat for The Dollar Dance:

Here are a few more snapshots from the evening:

I thought this one to be quite adorable, albeit a little fuzzy... it's my 8-year old, taking a picture of himself:

Hmmm, can't imagine where he gets it from.

i had no clue

I just learned (via a friend's Zenfolio site) that it's possible to add a "Guestbook" to my photography website. If you'd like to share a bit about your session experience, click HERE and scroll down to post a comment!

lazy days are good for the soul

But not so much for the blog! I've had my hubby and the boys home for two full weeks; it's been fun and all, but not very productive. BTW, our next Faithbooking Crop is right around the corner (which means I'm due for a hint). At this point, I'm shootin' for Monday.

My hairstylist owns Aafusion Spa Salon in Burnsville and has graciously offered to advertise my photography business by way of DVD slideshow (he has a large flat screen television in the waiting area). I've been so busy with the holidays and my CM business, it's taken me two months to finally get the thing together! I was pulling together images tonight and even revamped a few (the images below caught my eye):

It makes me miss the outdoor sessions :-(

I have a few several random things to share with you as well (I'll just put them in list form because it's late and I'm tired):

1. Beth Moore is offering up a little memorization challenge for 2009 (click HERE for details).
2. Did you know that not only can you order a cake with an edible image, you can also order just the edible images to add to your own homemade cake or cupcakes? Click HERE for details.
3. You can order a Kleenex box featuring your photo by clicking HERE.
4. You can also put your photo on a Jones Soda by clicking HERE.
5. Then there are these adorable dolls that Angie blogged about a few days ago. They are the cutest little things that you can personalize a number of ways... including a Bible verse stitched to the doll's tummy.
6. Elsie Flannigan's (technically, Elsie & friends :-) new store will open in less than one month! Click HERE for details.

My hubby's waiting for the computer... gotta go!

Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year with Rock Band, fonduing, and friends. Here are a few shots from the evening:

It would have been the perfect New Year's Eve celebration had it not been for the 3:00 am wake-up call by my oldest son... yeah, we've got The Sickness again. Different kid and symptoms but sickness all the same. Here's a shot from this afternoon, along with a quote from the younger brother, "Wouldn't it be cool if you threw up nine times on the first day of 2009?":

No, not so cool. Here is something cool though... an activity perfect for New Year's Day. You can send yourself an email postdated to arrive one year in the future - click HERE for details.
