The only added "elements" were images downloaded from my phone; these 2-inch prints were ordered from ScrapbookPictures.com. (Along those lines, a few of my favorite photography apps are Hipstamatic, ShakeItPhoto, and 100 Cameras in 1.) The layout idea was from Sketch Support, a great resource offering free printable sketches.

And AFTER with three-dimensional embellishments added to the page (i.e. traditional scrapbooking supplies added to a flat digital page).

For those of you new to hybrid scrapbooking, the digital backdrop is essentially a 12x12 photograph. While the top image appears three-dimensional, it is merely an illusion created with my Storybook Creator Plus 3.0 software. After completing the backdrop, I order it as a 12x12 page through ScrapbookPictures.com; once receiving the page, I add traditional scrapbooking elements - giving me the best of BOTH worlds (ease and freedom of digital along with the hands-on creative experience). Weekly Challenge #8 - Favorite Day of the Week

The theme for this week's challenge is your favorite day of the week. When you journal, take time to reflect on why it's your favorite day... is there anything in particular that sets it apart from the rest of the week?

Weekly Challenge #7 - Love/Hate Relationship

For those of you using the weekly challenges given in the 2011 Memory Logbook, you'll notice I branched out on my own both this week and last. My mind was on other things and I decided to take advantage of the self-inspired ideas. I'm not quite sure what I'll do for added embellishments, but that's the joy of a hybrid page... I don't have to worry about that part right now! The theme for this week's challenge is a love/hate relationship in your life. Could be a person. Could be a thing. Focus in on that relationship and journal your feelings.

I realize the color is a little off on the last two photographs; I didn't have a chance to mess with the images and my lighting wasn't the greatest. Oh well. I do have two more pages in the works and will post them soon as soon as I have the chance! (BTW, I completed more pages in January 2011 than I did the entire year of 2010. Amazing.) Hope are experiencing some renewed inspiration as well... if not, a good place to start might be HERE or HERE.

Weekly Challenge #5 - Fairy Tale

While the journaling for this challenge is central to the page, I wanted to keep the heart of my story private... thus the faded appearance. This was a difficult concept, journaling in the form of a fairy tale but one that suited the story behind these images. It begins with, "Once upon a time..." and predictably ends with, "and they lived happily ever after." You could use this concept to share the story of how you and your spouse met, becoming a mother for the first time, or you could do what I did and focus on an object or two. I'm getting a little behind on my B&A posts but hope to have some fresh material for you soon! (For those of you just stopping by, this is only the start of a digital hybrid page. I'll post the completed page once the three-dimensional elements have been added.)
