I went to Disneyworld when I was little. I LOVED meeting all of the characters. I went back when I was older and I really enjoyed checking out all of the countries at Epcot. If I win this prize I'll be giving it to my friend who just took her family to Disneyworld.

Blogiversary Prize Drawing #2

**THIS DRAWING IS NOW CLOSED!**

As you might have noticed in THIS POST, my family and I recently saw Toy Story 3 at the IMAX theater. It made me a little bit sad mainly because children used to be such a huge fans - so much so, that one may or may not have dressed up one Halloween in a Toy Story costume that required a wig.

I may or may not have proof.

Anyway, there may be a Toy Story fan or two out there celebrating birthdays or dressing up in their own SWEEEEET Halloween costumes this year. And this prize would make for the perfect scrapbooking accessory:

To enter the drawing, add a comment to this post sharing a costume you may or may not have donned at one time or another. (A winner will be chosen sometime within the next 24 hours!)

Blogiversary Prize Drawing #1

**THIS DRAWING IS NOW CLOSED!**

Speaking of vacations, my family and I will be taking a Disney cruise (our first - on both counts... Disney and cruise!) sometime next year. The kids are EXTREMELY excited, even the teenager. I thought I'd share a bit of the excitement with you, by making this item the first prize drawing item:

disney mini album

It's a mini album, the perfect way for kids to remember their special vacation (the perfect album for kids to complete themselves). The kit includes a mini paper album, sheet of epoxy stickers, paper ribbon, and four paper die-cuts. To enter this drawing, let me know one of your vacation memories by adding it as a comment to this post. (It can be a recent vacation memory or one from your childhood - big or small, it doesn't matter.) One winner will be chosen within the next 24 hours!

:: happy 4th & a couple of reminders ::

ren

Tomorrow is DAY 1 of the blogiversary drawings so be sure to stop by multiple times throughout the week to enter multiple prize drawings!!

Too, in case you missed the news on my photography website - all 2011 senior photo sessions booked and held before August 1st will receive $50 off. That's only $150 plus tax for a 1-2 hour on-location senior session with multiple outfit changes and the entire image gallery on disc (along with permission to make prints on your own).

I also wanted to give everyone a heads-up for the fall family sessions. (It's early but I've already begun booking them.) There will be a limited number of spots available - last fall was beyond crazy busy and I won't be scheduling as tightly this year. The weekends go quickly so book early if you're counting on one this fall. For those wanting Christmas cards, the session cutoff is November 7 to ensure I have enough time to edit the images, place orders, etc. (another lesson learned last year :) Even if you decide to make cards on your own, the cutoff will remain the same. A 1-2 hour on-location family session is $175 plus tax for up to five people (with an additional $10/person) for larger groups. As with all of my other sessions, you'll receive the entire image gallery on disc along with permission to make your own prints.

I'm off to enjoy the day and hope you are, too! Happy 4th!

hope = joyful expectation

mono wall hug

After shopping waiting patiently for several years, my husband and I finally earned enough points on our credit card to "purchase" something bigger than a new set of flatware. I am happy to say we are the proud new owners of a Wii. A free Wii (which makes it oh so much better).

The box arrived yesterday and we set it up to be a secret surprise.

silly mono

When my oldest opened the entertainment center for his game time this morning, he was shocked to see the new game system. "I didn't know I'd wake up today to own a Wii!!!"

It's like that with life. We experience tough seasons. Times where we struggle more than others. Where nothing seems to be going our way. Then one day, we wake to a surprise.

mono descent

I'd rather spend my days hoping for what is to come rather than grieving what's been lost.

We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:2-4

God has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us. 2 Corinthians 1:10

No one whose hope in you, Lord, will ever be put to shame. Psalm 25:3

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. Psalm 62:5

This doesn't come naturally, it is a daily choice I must make. So what are you hoping for today?
