Coincidence?
A striking occurrence of two or more events at one time apparently by mere chance. [The antonym (or opposite) of this word is "design, plan."]
Proceeding, made, or occurring without definite aim, reason, or pattern. [Antonyms for this word are "guided, premeditated, directed, designed, planned."]
So when does something move from being chance to a purposeful design or plan?
Talk about a WOW! moment. It all started with a prayer album. I was interested in dipping into the whole "faithbooking thing" after hearing much about it from Creative Memories co-founder Rhonda Anderson. I wasn't even sure where I was in my own faith but was quite versed in "Help me!" prayers. What began as an experiment turned into an explosion of faith! There were so many coincidences, so many detailed prayers answered. The Lord opened my eyes and taught me how to read the story of my life. He'd been there all along I simply hadn't noticed.

Double Digits
Can you believe it??? Meeley is 10 years old today! The hubby and I celebrated in our own way over the weekend, pouring over old video footage. There are so many sweet memories of him...
- Sitting on the couch with a guitar draped across his lap, pretending to play along with the hubby's band on videotape;
- Pulling himself up to the window ledge to hug Roxy, so gentle even at a year old;
- Pretending to be injured so he could secure a Band-Aid;
- Looking down at him with the camera and seeing those pudgy little hands reaching up towards me.
My only regret? That I would have made an effort to savor each second then, as I do now. It goes way too fast!

A week in review.
On Friday, my head was whirling "Where did the week go?" Here are some highlights:
- Meeley ended up at the doctor with what I thought was a cold; we were sent home with an inhaler and another doctor appointment for allergy-related asthma symptoms (I had no clue).
- A routine doctor appointment for me turned into a second appointment with a specialist for a mammogram and breast ultrasound. Everything turned out fine.
- My hubby ended up in the ER on Tuesday with chest pains. Again, everything turned out fine.
Sprinkled throughout these "extras" were other miscellaneous appointments, customer events, the start of a new study, and football - everyday life stuff. The more I focused on the things around me (circumstances), the more frenzied I became. Then it dawned on me - it was impossible to avoid much of what was going on and instead needed to roll with it. I set my alarm clock a little earlier each day to spend extra time with God in my journal and in His Word. The "extras" kept piling on but I found peace in the midst of the storm.
"My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest," says the Lord. Exodus 33:14

It's pretty clear I have issues...
Torture pain death.
Pain death.
Death.
Where and Who am I?
What am I doing?
Running in circles
and circles
in pain.
It lingers where it can't be found.
Clutching my heart and soul
feeding on itself.
It doesn't end won't end.
It's me. It's Who I am.
Prisoner of myself.
Prisoner of my pain.

and the winner is...
I really enjoy Fall too. I just love this weather. Wearing big soft sweatshirts and drinking hot cider or hot chocolate. I love pumpking patches and apple orchards - girls and I went to one last week. Love carmel apples! These are just some of my favorites for this season!

speed bumps
I always talk about slowing down. Perhaps adding a few speed bumps would help, intentionally leaving a openings on the calendar no matter how tempting it may be to fill them. God's way is not crazy - if I am living my life that way, I am not doing things His way.

cool new photos
Meeley couldn't play. I had taken him in after a night of wheezing and coughing, thinking it was a cold gone awry. It turns out he might have asthma!! No football for at least a week - doctor's orders.
He was a pretty good sport about it, despite the fact his team was short several players. The coach still had him involved from the sidelines, which was pretty cool.

one of *those* friendships
We have one of those friendships. You know, the kind where you can go months or years without seeing each other and yet easily pick up where you left off. Not that I enjoy spending that much time away from her! It seems there is always so much to talk about and so little time to do it.

______________ was here.
It is during times of upheaval that we most long for the way things used to be. Don't spend your present in the past, enjoy each and every moment while it is here! Savor the routine and ordinary things of life.
Journaling Ideas: Create a scrapbook page entitled "Signs of Me" or "I was here" (you can create this page about anyone you live with, just substitute their name for yours). Take pictures of everything that reminds you of that person, paying close attention to the details that surround you in a typical day. How do those things reflect your (or your loved one's) personality?

havin' FUN...
and lovin' the Canon Digital Rebel XTi. We had another football game tonight; Renzy is so tired of sitting on the sidelines. He was whining and crying before the game was even half over so I gave him permission to play on a nearby baseball field. BIG MISTAKE.

my new toy.
He brought it along to Meeley's football game and captured these cool shots. Yes, it's a new camera!!! I still very much love our old camera but this one will allow us to do much more (including capture those far, far away football shots). It's a digital SLR - which means we have the ability to change lenses. I've only played with it a little bit myself, it feels like learning how to shoot all over again!
Here are some action shots - my hubby caught this tackle made by Meeley (he's under the guy in red). It was followed by the shot below.
In "sports mode" it takes quick, successive shots. Once we fully figure the thing out, it will be soooooo much fun!

we were HERE!
For those of you unfamiliar with Joyce Meyer, you can find her television schedule or view previous broadcasts online at her website. Click HERE for the link!
- It's not what happens to me, it's how I respond that makes a difference! Let every situation make you better, not bitter.
- As we continue to bring up offense, talking repeatedly about those who hurt or treat us unfairly (spouse, kids, neighbors, bad drivers, boss, siblings, government) - we are harboring unforgiveness and only hurting ourselves. Continually revisiting the offense is like carrying around dead weight. Bitterness is like an infection that will spread throughout our lives.
- Unforgiveness hurts you; it holds you captive.
- Things don't have to be good to work out for good.
Someone else took this neat photo of Hillsong London at the conference!
Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous -- with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy! Matthew 5:7
