I just felt the need to comment on Teen Challenge. I have had the opportunity to sit in on many different treatment facilities giving their "pitch" to send people to their operation; Teen Challenge being one of them. What frustrated me about reading the above website is that there is the implication that Teen Challenge tries to "hide" that they are a Christian based facility. They ask you if you are okay with that when you call to set up an intake, they tell you that at their seminars. This isn't a secret to anyone. If you aren't okay with a "bible based" philosophy, this isn't the place for you. I have had the opportunity to see at least 15-20 people go through the program. More then that go through other treatment programs. I won't sit here and say that every one of them loved the program,a couple felt it was too much religion, but I can tell you that the success rate is a lot higher then you're average chemical dependency treatment and that the majority of people that I know that have gone through it really liked the structure and values/morals that went with Teen Challenges' teachings. You can't always please everyone and there isn't a facility out there that doesn't have it's critics. I just felt that as someone who has nothing to do with Teen Challenge, but has seen it's success I needed to comment on the fact that, "it is what it is" it's Christian - if that's your thing go there, if it's not then don't.
