Week in the Life Challenge - Day 6

It was an Uncommon Everyday from start to finish. There was a date night with the hubby, the last football game of the season, seeing Grandma Lita, hanging out with the football team at a local joint, and a frosty morning.

It was a beautiful Saturday in every sense of the word.

Week in the Life Challenge - Day 5

I had a little trouble keeping up with today's photos... the theme was Everyday Family and Everyday Home; pretty easy topic if you're paying attention. I, unfortunately, was not. As I mentioned in my earlier post, it was a day in front of pictures - not the camera. I did manage to catch a few sporadic shots:

Oh and then there was this priceless quote, overheard while passing the bathroom. One of my boys said to the other, "Once I went for 10 seconds straight."

The other responded, "Well, I once went for 39 seconds - full speed."

It must be a boy-thing.

I spent the ENTIRE day glued to one spot, trying to take care of edits that should have been done a week ago! After looking at these shots all day, of course I had to share a few (or ten).

Oops, the family is calling me so I'll need to finish up later!!!!!!!

Week in the Life Challenge - Day 4

Today's theme was Everyday Celebrations. I would definitely describe the following as joyous diversions in my day:

I thought I'd do my journaling in list format:

1. A spontaneous visit with my nephew.
2. Coffee w/Sharon.
3. Another Good Day Cafe delight.
4. Meeley's last football practice of the season!!!!
5. Reading with the kids.
6. A Klondike Bar.
7. A quick stop by the local scrapbooking store to spend the rest of my gift card: journaling box rub-ons and alphabet stamps.
8. A surprise in the paycheck.
9. The dusty little note I found written in my van when the sunshine hit it just right.
10. The free Ali Edwards font I picked up HERE. (Technically, this was last night but I'm celebrating it today by sharing it with you ;-)

Week in the Life Challenge - Day 3

When I first purchased these sunglasses, my kids laughed because they were so BIG! While waiting for the bus this morning, we found a pair of my old sunglasses in the van. My teeny tiny sunglasses.

When I put them on, my son laughed.

I said to him, "Remember when you laughed at me because the new glasses looked so big?"

He nodded.

"After seeing them on my face for so long, they look normal and now the other ones look weird. That's kind of how it is in the world. Sometimes we get so used to seeing junky behavior around us, it looks normal and doing the right thing can seem weird. That's why it's really important to make careful choices when it comes to friends and the stuff you watch on television."

How's that for a life lesson? (Not only can we use our scrapbook albums as place to celebrate life, we can use them to teach.)
