sword & shield

the shield

I know I'm not the only one dealing with CrazyMakers (some of us might even BE the CrazyMakers). Way back when, I stumbled upon this book:

book

An incredible resource. Here's a video by author Dr. David Hawkins describing five types of CrazyMakers.

Boy, can I relate. When dealing with a CrazyMaker, the best thing you can do for yourself is set healthy boundaries. If you're wondering whether or not you've done that, a good way to check is by examining your attitude. If you have erected healthy boundaries, the CrazyMaker loses the power to control you, your feelings or your life. You learn to love and let go. Of course, this is much easier said than done. That is why I lean on scripture for support. The following verses can be a HUGE help:
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14 (NIV)

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 (NIV)

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry. Psalm 34:15 (NIV)

The Lord is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face. Psalm 11:7 (NIV)

No one whose hope is in you, Lord, will ever be put to shame. Psalm 25:3 (NIV)
He hears your cries. He loves justice. He is with you. This "battle" is not new to God, in fact he equips us in the book of Ephesians:
And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Ephesians 6:10-17 (MSG)
Praying strength for you in the midst of whatever CrazyMakers you face!
