adventures in eating

Last year, a group of us ventured out to the Melting Pot for an evening of good food, laughter, and most importantly - uninterrupted conversation. (If you have children, you know exactly what I'm talking about.) This year (it took that long for our wallets to recover), we decided to make it a Buca Night.

And I am ohsoglad we did!

Despite the fact, we almost relived the Scattergories Incident of 2008. Despite the fact, they no longer make cannoli (or even tortellini, for that matter). Despite the fact, the girl-with-the-tree-nut-allergy accidentally ate hazelnuts. Despite the fact, Tilly paid $25 for a piece of chicken.

Why? Because someone not only managed to find a bakery open at 8:30 pm but located and secretly purchased cannoli. Because Lynn finally has a Facebook picture. Because my husband now has an accountability group for the garden I've been waiting on for two years. Because we were laughing our heads off before even making it to the restaurant. Because there are leftovers :-)

Obviously, I'm still working out kinks with the flash.

I'm off to take care of business before heading out to church. Do you think fettucine alfredo would be a bit much for breakfast? Perhaps. I'd better stick with the cheesecake.
