decorating the tree

We had a bit of a fiasco with the lights on Sunday... they were all dead! I have no clue what happened. We'd bought several new strings last year and somehow in storage, they all went kaput. Isn't that the way it goes? The hubby and I were a little "off" with things ourselves having completely forgotten our holiday tradition of giving the boys each a new ornament (we've only been doing this for ten years). We hiked on over to Target in the midst of our celebration. Ren chose a miniature snow globe ornament and Meeley, an owl. (Unfortunately, the hubby had to go back out a second time because we hadn't yet realized our lights were broken.)

Isn't that the way it goes?

I'm up WAAAAAY TOOO LAAAATE messing with projects. I haven't yet posted the November Faithbooking Lesson and hope to have it up in the next day or so! Gotta get it done before posting the December hint... where in the world is time going????

How weird - i pulled all my lights out yesterday & most were dead too - including all the new ones I bought at Target last year! Maybe we got a bad batch!! So today I will be making trip #2 to Target for more lights...more trips to come i'm sure! :)

I'm just going on the record to say that I HATE LIGHTS! I threw out all the duds last year, but still find myself trying to fix fuses and replace bulbs this year. My family knows to just stay away from me! Luckily the ones for our tree went smoothly-actually the best they ever have, so I'm grateful for that! Now I have to see if I can do the outside ones on the house by myself since hubby is out of town-although even if he were here he wouldn't help because he just doesn't like to do them on the house. If I come to bible study with a broken leg tomorrow from falling off the ladder or roof, you'll know why. :) Love the tree, btw!

it scares me that you're going up on the roof, Amy! I hope you're already done before you read this - remind me to tell you about C falling off the ladder on Sunday! About had a heart attack! Hope the neighborhood enjoys our house this year - it'll probably be the last time he goes up on the ladder! lol!

No roof for me today-got distracted at the American Girl store instead! :) Yikes about C! That's just what he (you) need now-him stuck on the couch recovering and you having to take care of him!

Oh wow, I am so glad that I am not the only one running around trying to stop time so I can get stuff done! Your tree looks gorgeous, great pic! I told my hubby that I don't even know if I will get our tree up this year! And, now that you mention it, I think I threw out all our lights last year cuz I was sick of fighting them...
