i love surprises.

Remember me raving about this book? I happen to have an autographed copy to share with one of you! To enter the prize drawing, here's what you'll need to do. Just click HERE and then on the "Read Excerpt" tab to the left. Come back to my blog and add a comment to this post sharing one thing that spoke to you from the book.

I realize this might be a "stepping out of your comfort zone" kind of moment. (Perhaps even a good time to examine what you are saying to yourself ;-) Your comment can be short or long, detailed or vague - pretty much anything goes. You have until 9:00 pm tonight - ready, set... GO!

In my job we talk to our clients about their self talk and how they can change it. However, while reading the excerpt it really made me stop and think about my own self talk. I've said in the past that if people knew what went on "up there" they would think I'm crazy, sometimes I think I'm crazy! I'm interested to read how to incorporate God into my self talk even more so then just changing how I talk to myself. Sounds like a great book.

Ok, after reading that excerpt, I am so glad talking to myself is normal! A couple sentences really stuck out to me-the part about if I don't control my thoughts, they will control me. And that "you are a reflection of the way you think." Neat book-how did you get an autographed copy?

It is interesting that you posted this on your blog today as I have had two conversations with friends today about the power of positive thinking. I guess if I was looking for a sign - here it is. So often in our lives we act out of fear or negativity. As we make decisions and act on these fears, we find we are off the path we had planned for ourselves. Focusing on Soul Talk, rather than Self Talk seems like a great place to start to recondition your mind and the way you look at life. The world is full of fear and negativity, so why not focus on something you can control - the constant conversation in your head. I will have to read this book after I finish "A New Earth," by Eckhart Tolle. This book addresses similar ideas, but seems to have a broader focus. I would recommend this book to those looking to live a more purposeful life. Thanks for sharing this book Tina!

We so rarely take time to think about our thinking, it's so automatic. That's so cool you use that with your clients, Lynn.

There was a special promotion online, Amy - they were SELLING the autographed copies (if you purchased two of them together, they were signed by the author).

It's funny you should mention that book Crystal... Our pastor referenced it in his sermon as promoting New Age thinking vs. biblical Christianity. I've been digging into it a little further and will likely post a few tidbits regarding the topic later. It's very interesting.

Anyone else interested in participating in the drawing?? If so, there are only two more hours left to go!
