I was hit particularly by one woman's comment at the end of the presentation; when asked how she felt about what she'd seen, this was her response:

Humbled, blessed, and sad. I am not wealthy by American standards, but reading these accounts reveals that I am rich...

Sometimes we can be so blinded by our own situation, we fail to see anyone else - or any other problems besides our own. Sometimes the antidote to our own pain, is reaching out to someone else in the midst of theirs.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:24-25 (NIV)
