a MinneSNOWta Christmas

Well, better late than never! Today is BooMama's 2008 Tour of Christmas Homes so be sure to check it out (so far there are almost 500 bloggy ladies participating). Some of the decorations will blow you away, mind you they won't be mine.

First, our tree. The sad "before" (above) and the brilliant "after" (below):

We also added greenery and lights above the cabinets:

Here are a few shots from the entryway:

You'll notice I'm all about the pictures :-) Here are a few other things from around the house:

We have a huge assortment of animated decorations we've received as gifts from my parents. We rotate them from year-to-year because there just isn't room to display them all. The boys look forward to them each year.

My favorite item is a tree skirt that was made by my grandma. It reminds me of Christmas stockings she'd made for my sibs and me. Here's just a small portion:

If you're looking for a yummy holiday recipe, be sure to check out my Gingerbread Biscotti post. It is divine.

Last but not least, I thought I'd share a little view of the Minnesota outdoors. This video was taken late last night:

Yes, the reason this was posted later than intended... I was shoveling (in sub-zero temps, no less).

Seems this is the weekend for snow. I read quite a few blogs where folks got snow - and we did too (it 'supposedly' rarely snows here).

Everything looks so wonderful. I loved the before and after shots of your tree, I would have never thought to do that!

Merry Christmas, Kiy
