Last but not least, a road trip to Illinois must include a stop at Six Flags Great America. We had no idea what to expect but were greatly impressed with the park's security, cleanliness, and overall setup. I'd even go so far as to say it rivaled Disney World on the fun meter. Our only complaint was that you couldn't purchase a thing for under $5. Thirsty? A bottle of water will cost you five dollars. Hungry? A bag of cotton candy... five dollars.
(After much spinning and flinging, the hubby and I realized the high prices were likely a safety precaution.)
Our favorite rides of the day were the Roaring Rapids, Ragin' Cajun, and The Dark Knight Coaster. Not into rides? No problem; spend your day at the park in Hurricane Harbor.
