Meeley celebrated his first decade with friends from school and football. Birthday parties are a little more complicated these days. No longer do friends come over for simple cake and ice cream. They celebrate BIG at bowling alleys,
jumpy-thing places, and movie theaters. This can be very helpful to parents - little preparation is needed (aside from invitations and cake) and there is virtually no clean-up. Unfortunately, it can be a bit pricey. After trying it BIG one year, The hubby and I and have since opted for old-fashioned birthday parties. Well, old-fashioned
with a twist.

Here is where the kitty litter comes in.
We theme the parties to add a little zing for the boys. The
Family Fun website has been a very helpful resource for game, food, and other party ideas. Meeley chose a Harvest/Halloween theme which included bobbing for apples, worms on a bun, and
kitty litter cake. Perfect for a bunch of ten year old boys!
