thumpin' happened...

Ren came home from school yesterday with a surprise... he'd pulled out another tooth! That's two days in a row, can you believe it? He said what made it really special was that it happened while the librarian was reading a book to his class about the tooth fairy!

Not only is there a bonus for FRONT TEETH but apparently one for teeth pulled two days in a row as well. This is what my children tell me.

On account of our financial security, we've insisted he stop wiggling teeth!

Whew! Between the holidays, her job, and my chaos with the boys home for two weeks - it took A LOT to pull this one together. In fact, I'd go so far as to say we experienced the Lord's supernatural intervention (that, or we are both extremely determined to keep this up).

We met at Cafe Latte in St. Paul and had a wonderful visit. I am so blessed by our time together and amazed at what God has done to our friendship in recent months. Talk about a breath of life! These dates are inspiring, fun, refilling, and RELAXING. And, to top it all off, there's even coffee involved!

What more could I ask for?

I'm still in my THIRTIES, but...

a girl needs to be prepared. I found these cool, handpainted reading specs at a neat little shop in St. Paul. They even came with a matching case! The website is nothing compared to the shop... they have handbags, very cool slippers, the cutest baby accessories EVER, smelly bath things, dishes, and (much to our kids' delight) Webkinz! The store is called "Sincerely Yours" and you can find directions HERE. It was well worth the trip for the reading glasses alone.

It seriously made my day.

sad Monday.

I first learned about this woman's story through Jody Ferlaak's blog and realized she was from my hubby's home town of SSP. She just lost her husband to brain cancer over the weekend. Please lift her in your prayers today.

how you live

How You Live - Point Of Grace

Verse 1:
Wake up to the sunlight
With your windows open
Don't hold in your anger or leave things unspoken
Wear your red dress
Use your good dishes
Make a big mess and make lots of wishes
Have what you want
But want what you have
And don't spend your life lookin' back

Chorus:
Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
You won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
Cuz it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

Verse 2:
So go to the ballgames
And go to the ballet
And go see your folks more than just on the holidays
Kiss all your children
Dance with your wife
Tell your husband you love him every night
Don't run from the truth
'Cause you can't get away
Just face it and you'll be okay

Chorus:
Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
You won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

Bridge:
Oh wherever you are and wherever you've been
Now is the time to begin

Verse 3:
So give to the needy
And pray for the grieving
E'en when you don't think that you can
'Cause all that you do is bound to come back to you
So think of your fellow man
Make peace with God and make peace with yourself
'Cause in the end there's nobody else

Chorus
Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

he lost a "toof"

My son gave me the title for this post :-) We just had a very cute exchange of words that I couldn't resist posting.

Ren: Maybe the tooth fairy has brown hair and blue eyes...

Me: Goodnight honey.

Ren: And maybe she has a yellow shirt and blue pants, with her hands in her pockets... just like you. I think YOU are the tooth fairy! You are, aren't you?

Me: I'm pleading the Fifth. The Fifth Amendment.

Ren: Maybe the tooth fairy will bring me a dictionary so I can understand what you just said...
His note is below. He said he would have put the words Tooth Fairy in quotes (e.g. "Tooth Fairy") but he decided against it in case there were kids who believed in fairies on my blog. He didn't want to disappoint them.

hi.

I have one more link to share! It's the video footage from Lysa TerKeurst's appearance on Oprah. You can get directly to the video by clicking HERE. I love stories of God using ordinary women in extraordinary ways. Just imagine what He has in store for you...

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever. Psalm 138:8
